Ski Shop and Ski Trails Closed Until We Get More Snow

Bummer! The rain coming down this afternoon has now damaged the trails to the point that we need to close them. For your safety, and to protect the base, please do not ski or walk on the trails. Think snow! Even if temps drop again, we will need some more snow in order to repair the base and get trails open again for you.

The ski trails held up pretty well after Thursday’s warm temperatures.  However, with rain predicted to start by mid-morning, we are closing the ski shop for the day.  If you have a season pass, you can come out to ski the trails before the rain starts.

Temperatures dropped lower than we had expected last night, which is good for the preservation of the base on the trails.  However, it also means trails are starting out icy this morning.  We suggest you wait until 10:00 or so to come out so that trails can soften up a bit and we can get out and make another pass with the groomers.  Once things soften up, it should be another beautiful day of skiing.

Shop and Trails Closed

Good morning.  It is going to be a warm day, and because of that we are keeping the trails closed to preserve our base, and to not pack the new snow that we got over night.  If we allow the snow to “dry out” over night, we should have great skiing tomorrow.  We are bummed to have to close for the day, but it will serve us all best in the long run of the season.

Please do NOT walk or ski on the trails!  Thank you.

Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Good morning.  We got another few inches of snow over night and we are packing it in to build the base up a little more.  We are excited to get this snow, but the forecast for tomorrow does not look good.  Our plan is to let today’s new snow insulate the base from the possible rain and warm temps at the end of this storm.  In turn that means we will most likely be closed tomorrow during the warmer weather.

NO TRACKS TODAY

Although the temps are low, we have some refreshing sunshine to start the day.  The groomers were able to continue to loosen up the base and have freshly groomed all of the open trails this morning and set fresh tracks where it was possible.

Conditions are excellent for skate skiing, and not bad for intermediate to expert classic skiers as well.  Not an ideal day for beginner skiers- but it will be as soon as we get some fresh snow!  Our 2.5 miles of snowshoe trails are another excellent choice for today- especially on micro-spikes, which we rent.

As always, use caution when skiing our trails.
